I moved my son from a floor bed/co-sleeping to a toddler bed at the same time, and he did just fine. I don't know how much personality affects him with new changes, but cater to how he normally accepts new things and just go for it! You both will do great. Another thought is to make the bed cozy at first, like bolster pillows around the edges to make it feel more contained. Put it in a corner. He'll be fine. My son is going to be 16 months old in a couple of days. He has been in a crib since 3 months old. I have been reading about Montessori bedrooms and learning for about a month now, and I feel really comfortable with all the aspects but honestly, I'm just scared! He's so use to sleeping in a crib, but he's so close to being able to escape and is always getting feet stuck, etc. So we will be converting to a "big boy room" soon anyways and I want to go with this style of room. It just makes sense! Everything! Do you have any advice for me since my son is transitioning from a crib (which is the only place he will sleep, right now) to a floor bed?
